Guests arrive, the gahwa is on, and someone asks what’s on the tray. Here’s how to make stuffed dates the easiest win of the evening.
1. Plate in rows, not piles
A round brass tray or a long wooden board works best. Line the dates up in neat rows by flavour so people can see what they’re choosing. It looks generous and keeps the chocolate from scuffing.
2. Mix colours across the tray
Alternate flavours so every corner has something different: Restberry next to Kunafa Royale, Gahwa beside Lumi Hasawi. A few loose pistachios, raspberries or coffee beans between rows tell guests what’s inside without a menu.
3. Serve at room temperature
Take the tubs out of the fridge a little before serving so the chocolate softens slightly and the filling tastes its best.
4. Pair with gahwa
Saudi coffee and dates are a classic for a reason. Lighter roasts suit the fruity flavours, while darker cups stand up to Nutella and Gahwa.
5. Keep a tub in reserve
Six dates per tub disappear fast. Keep one or two extra tubs nearby, or go for the Majlis Pack if you’re hosting a crowd.
